04 Dec Skirt Pants: Comfortable, Beautiful, & Perfect For Aerial Dance
I am not a fan of tight pants for Aerial Dance. I enjoy dancing with the balance of comfort and the display of my body line. Finding the right pants is always a big challenge. Below you can see my newest favorite aerial pants from Uniqlo!
Comfy Skirt Pants for Aerial Dance
These green pants are called Chiffon Pleated Skirt Pants. It feels so comfortable to move around in them without looking too bulky. You can see basic beginner movement with these pants in this How to Start Aerial Hammock for Absolute Beginner tutorial and this hands-free Aerial Hammock Dance video.
Why are they great for Aerial Dance?
These aerial pants have a soft layer inside and a wavy layer on the outside to create a skirt look. It holds well at the waist to show the hip and leg line, but also helped to cover my lower back up to avoid burn from the hammock. I love the wide cut at the ankle to make my legs look even longer in the air.
The see-through outer material helps to create this wide-cut look without looking too bulky.
What doesn’t work too well?
The extra soft material and the shorter (ankle) cut means that the pants are unlikely to hold its shape when inverting and hooking the knees.
If you are a total beginner you would want to make sure to wear an outfit that covers the back of your knees to reduce the risk of skin burn.
Skirt Pants on Aerial Hoop
Generally I feel comfortable and confident to dance around in these pants, even on the Aerial Hoop.
