29 Nov 4 Ways to Rig Aerial Hammock or Hoop Indoor
Having a rig at home has given me the opportunity to practice aerial dance whenever I can. Even though I do not have high ceilings, I still grew from a weak girl to the aerial dancer today doing what I am able to do with my indoor aerial rig. This post is a collection of rigging methods, hope it will give you some inspirations for rigging aerial indoor.
What I do with my indoor Aerial Rig
- Hammock & Silks
- Aerial Hoop
- Aerial Yoga
- Gym Rings
**Please discuss with a professional rigger to evaluate your space and select the best suitable method for you.
Indoor aerial rig option 1
Ceiling mounts with anchor bolts
This is how I rig in my aerial home. I preferred using ceiling mounts because it’s sturdy and clean. It gives me easy access without taking up space when I am not using it.
However, not all homes are suitable with this method. I specially looked for ceilings that can be mounted with anchor bolts before deciding on my next home.
Indoor aerial rig option 2
A tailor-made support structure
If ceiling mounts do not work for your space, consider having professionals help you out.
They could help you to identify whether your beams or your sidewalls could support an aerial rig structure in your indoor space. It could be risky for your personal safety and home insurance if the installation isn’t done right.
No drill solution: Aerial Rig
Getting a portable rig is an easiest and safest solution to your installation headache.
You won’t need to worry whether it will hold, the messy installation, or if your home can support it.
You can also bring the rig outdoor to extend it when the weather allows.

This one is specifically for hoop aerialists.
I find portable rig limiting having the poles around me.Lollipop hoop is a free standing structure that spins really well.
